ATELIER ASSISTANT - VIKTOR& ROLF
HAUTE COUTURE SS24
SCISSORHANDS
From August 2023 to January 2024, I had the opportunity to assist the Viktor & Rolf Atelier in the creation of the SS24 Couture collection Scissorhands. My work ranged from draping experiments to craft-focused techniques, including 3D flower embroidery and seamstress work, allowing me to contribute across multiple stages of the process.
During the development of the collection, I worked primarily on looks 9 to 12, concentrating on the refinement of the Chanel ruffling technique—exploring volume, rhythm, and precision in couture construction.
This experience was profoundly rewarding, both technically and personally. It sharpened my making skills while offering a deep understanding of collaboration within a high-pressure couture environment. Working as part of a dedicated team, under intense time constraints, across the atelier and backstage during the show, gave me a firsthand perspective on the rigor, energy, and collective commitment behind a major couture collection.
