ARIA DES OMBRES
Aria des Ombres, the tale of an inner conflict is brought to life. Shadow and Persona—entities coexisting in the mind—engage in a dynamic ballet of power. This story sheds light on the Shadow, as developed by Dr.Carl Jung, who said: "Everyone carries a shadow, and the less it is embodied in the individual's conscious life, the blacker and denser it is." This is an invitation to acknowledge the censored aspects of ourselves and embrace our repressed emotions, negative patterns, and the parts of us we have denied. Recognizing these elements is key to breaking free from vicious cycles. I chose to focus this collection on female rage through a women’s lineup. Women today are barely
free of some cycles our mothers and grandmothers endured, and the small strides of equality we’ve gained seem to be slipping through our fingers again. In a society where feeling anything other than joy is often deemed an overreaction, female suffering has long been normalized. Female rage validates women’s pain and emotions, offering them a voice and a platform.
The film accompanying my graduate collection of the same name follows the model wearing the coat to her journey facing her shadows.
